Rye Hockey Rebounds for Dominant 9-2 Win vs Clarkstown North

Rye Hockey snapped a quick two-game slide on Wednesday night (1/16), filling the net with nine goals in a big 9-2 win vs Clarkstown North. The Garnets move back above .500 after the win.
“This was an important bounce back game for us as we played two lackluster games after our win against Suffern,” Head Coach Pete Thomas told MyRye.com after the victory. “We got back to the basics of our game by playing within our structure.”
Ryan Draddy continued to shine, as the junior scored two goals and added two assists, leading all players with four points. “That [structure] was highlighted by the play of Ryan Draddy,” Thomas continued. “Ryan exemplified the kind of game we want to play.”
Behind Draddy, Kai Brittain and Cody Greenhaw both scored their first career varsity goals. Tyler McDermott, Will Weinman, Dean Kim, Max Niejadlik, and Trevor Dolan all added one goal apiece. Fernando Momsquera drew another start and earned another win with sixteen saves.
The victory pushes Rye’s record to 5-4-1 on the year, as they head into a weeklong break. Their next game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, as they travel to the Palisades Mall for a rematch with Clarkstown North. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:15pm in the second half of the home-and-home matchup.
