The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swim and Dive Team fell just short of Lakeland – Walter Panas – Putnam Valley (LPPV) on Friday, January 17, dropping a close 87-76 meet. The team battled hard despite being heavily outnumbered, but could not come up with their fourth win of the 2024-25 season.

“The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook swim team did a great job of competing and winning events against a much larger Lakeland team,” Head Coach Katie Konopka told MyRye.com after the meet. “Kieran Moran won the 100-meter freestyle and 100M breaststroke and qualified for sectionals in both events.”

Moran continued his strong season with the two event wins, extending his season to sectional races in March.

The four-man relay team of Moran, Nick Stocks, Wilson Redd, and Michael Ladyzhensky won the 200M medley relay and the 200M freestyle relay as a team. Individually, Redd placed first in the 50M freestyle and 100 butterfly. Ladyzhensky won the 500M freestyle event.

The team (3-6) will look to snap their short losing skid in their next meet one week from today against the Wappingers. The home meet is scheduled for 4:30pm on Friday, January 24th.
