County Executive Election Update: Jenkins Leading at 11:30pm, But No Official Word

As of 11:30pm on Tuesday, February 11, Ken Jenkins (D) leads the special election for Westchester County Executive over Christine Sculti (R). Jenkins was the heavy favorite entering the multi-day election, and has secured 61% of the votes with 740 districts reported out of 906 (81%). He has earned 32,596 votes out of the 53,556 reported as of just before midnight on Tuesday evening.
Jenkins was sworn in as the County’s 10th County Executive on January 6, 2025, a promotion from his prior position as Deputy County Exec. If his 12,000-vote lead holds up as the final 19% of districts report their vote counts, he will continue to serve in this new role until December 31, 2025.
Sculti was the chief advisor for one-time County Executive Rob Astorino and has received 20,960 votes (39%) as of 11:30pm on Tuesday. She would take over for Jenkins if she pulls off an improbable late-night comeback. She would also be the first woman ever elected into this role – she is already the first female running for County Exec.
Both candidates are vying to fill the gap left behind by George Latimer, who was elected to Congress as a New York representative and sworn in on Friday, January 3, 2025. The combined Latimer-Jenkins/Sculti term ends on New Year’s Eve. Another election will be held in November of this year for a full term, starting in 2026.
