Imelda (nee O’Mara) Malone, 93, passed away in her home, in Rye, NY, on Monday, March 11, 2025, with her daughters by her side. Imelda was the heart and soul of our family, known for her elegance, compassion, love of family and God.

Born in Leitrum, Co. Sligo, Ireland, to William & Lillian O’Mara. Predeceased by her husband Joe, with whom she shared 60 years of wedded bliss, daughter Sheree (3), and brothers Tommy & Liam O’Mara.

Survived by daughters Sharon Malone, Sandra Pratt (George Pratt), Gina Malone, Meldie Moore (Bruce Moore), Jennifer Eckerson; Son, Joe Malone, jr.; Grandchildren & Greatgrandchildren – Ashley (Pratt) & Rich Perkin and children Scott, John, Will & Bo Perkin; Heather (Pratt) & Peter Goertzen and children Charlie, Erik & Alex Goertzen, Jake & Liza Pratt and children Benji & Asher Pratt; Gina Malone children Gavin, Declan & Meghan Rowley, Meldie Moore children Brandon, & Liam Moore; Jennifer Eckerson children Sarah, Emily and Jack Eckerson.

Imelda ‘Mimi’ will be remembered for her dedication to her husband of 60 years the large family she & Daddy Joe created & loved. She was the epitome of elegance and grace, known for always wearing a beautiful hat,. She was a true partner to Joe in family and business, travelling the world together. She was a loyal and compassionate friend.

Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 15, 2025, 11:00 am, will be held at Resurrection Church, 910 Boston Post Road, Rye, NY 10580. Her remains will be flown to Ireland to be buried next to husband Joe, daughter Sheree, & her parents Bill and Lilly.

We request donations to the Leukemia Society, Arthritis Foundation of Ireland, in lieu of flowers.
