Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Varsity Swimming and Diving Head Coach Katie Konopka has named her MVP for the 2024-25 season on the swimming side: sophomore Keiran Moran.

“Kieran had an excellent 2024-2025 swim season,” Konopka told MyRye.com. The sophomore shined as the season progressed, and he took on a larger role throughout the later meets.

Moran’s season highlights include a second place finish at the league 2 championship meet in the 200-meter individual medley (IM). He also finished 4th in the 100M breaststroke at the pinnacle event. He led off the 4-man relay team at the championship meet which placed 1st, swimming 50M.

Moran rose to the occasion at other meets throughout the season as well. At the section 1 championship meet, he placed 8th in the 200M IM and 7th in the 100M freestyle. Moran was also a part of two relay teams that placed in the top-16 at the sectional meet.

The sophomore picked up all-league and all-section honors for his work throughout the 2024-25 season, the team’s first in league 2. Moran was a key reason Konopka and her group picked up four wins. As a sophomore, he will have a chance to return next year and improve upon his great year two success.
