
Rye Baseball’s offense dominated once again on Tuesday, April 29, as the Garnets defeated Pelham 13-2 on the road. Head Coach Michael Bruno and his squad become Rye’s first spring team to ten wins, and they did so in dominant fashion.
Luke Ontaneda singled three times and knocked in three runs to lead the attack. Vinny sculti also batted 1.000 with two hits and an RBI, while Harry Ellis had three hits in four trips to the plate, including a double. Jamie morris walked thrice and had an RBI double, scoring three times. Alex Schatz had a pinch-hit, two-run single.
Clayton McCarthy earned the win on the mound, striking out four Pelicans across four strong innings. He moves to 4-0 on the year after the solid outing.
Rye (10-3) will look for their seventh consecutive victory on Saturday, May 3, as they travel to Edgemont for a road game at 3:00pm.
