Burglaries on Theodore Fremd Avenue – Rye PD Asks for Help

Rye PD is asking the public for assistance after two burglaries at the Vienna Senior Housing complex on Wednesday evening. Two apartments at the complex on 250 Theodore Fremd Avenue were accessed through the rear unlocked windows and burglarized.

A four foot step ladder was recovered at the scene. The time frame from the burglary was between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. A nest camera revealed at 9:10pm an unidentified party in one of the apartments. The unidentified party is wearing gloves and a face mask to conceal his identity. Rye Detectives processed both scenes and the matter is under investigation. The burglary was reported 10:15 pm.

Rye PD is urging anyone with information to report it to the police department at (914) 967-1234. In a public statement, Rye PD suggested residents take “Some simple measures to keep your home safe from burglars includes ensuring your house is secure, locking doors and windows, removing keys from locks and out of reach of windows and doors. While you should leave lights on and draw curtains if you go out at night, the Rye Police suggest you consider installing security cameras and installing a burglar alarm.”
