Garnets Baseball Blows Out Byram Hills to Open Florida Road Trip
Rye Baseball kicked off their annual trip to Disney with a 12-0 five-inning victory over Byram Hills on Tuesday, April 15. The Garnets continue to pour on the offense through their first six games, three of which have ended in mercy rule wins.
Luke Ontaneda led the potent Garnets lineup with three hits in four at-bats and drove in two runs. Charlie Rupp went 2-4 with an RBI hitting behind Jamie Morris, who doubled and knocked home two runs in a 1-3 performance. Clayton McCarthy earned his second win of the season on the hill, tossing five shutout frames and dancing around two walks and three hits. He struck out four.
Rye (4-2) plays again Wednesday morning April 16th at 10:30am against Roy C. Ketcham at the same beautiful ESPN Spring Training Complex field. They will look for their fourth straight win in another contest against a local opponent down in Florida.
