Girls Lacrosse Wins Third Consecutive by Double Digits vs. Pelham

The Rye Girls Lacrosse Team improved to 3-0 to start the young 2025 season on Tuesday, April 1, defeating Pelham 17-7. The Garnets won their first league game of the season, and all three of their victories through one week have been by ten goals or more.
“This was an important victory as Pelham is a league opponent and always a good rivalry match,” Head Coach Michelle Mason told MyRye.com on Wednesday. “Another team win for the Garnets.”
Mason highlighted one ‘play of the game’ in the late stages of the first quarter. Rye’s Beau Whaling pressured the Pelicans’ goalie, caused a turnover, and flicked the ball to Caroline Doyle for a buzzer-beating goal. Whaling showed off her field hockey skills on the play, which was a major momentum shift in the waning ticks of quarter number one. On the other end of the field, senior goalie Katherine Ebeling had a solid 48 minutes in goal, registering seven stops and a strong .500 save percentage.
The Garnets (3-0, 1-0 league) will look to keep the good times rolling in their next contest, a 1:00pm face-off against Wilton on Saturday, April 5. The JV teams will also clash at 11:00am as part of a double header to start the weekend.
