The Rye Baseball Team crushed Rye Neck for the second time in three days on Friday, April 11, winning 11-1 in five innings. The Garnets won via the mercy rule on Wednesday 14-4 on home fsoil, and visited the Panthers to close the week and triumphed by the same large spread.

Ben Fineberg (1-2, 3 runs batted in), Luke Ontaneda (2-3, 1 RBI), Charlie Rupp (2-3, 2 RBIs), and Michael Talbott (2-2) all doubled off Panthers pitching to lead a devastating offensive attack. The Garnets barreled up baseballs throughout the evening en route to sending eleven runners across home plate compared to only fifteen outs.

Peter Davies picked up his second win of the season with four solid innings on the hill, ceding only one earned run. He moves to 2-1 on the year as the ace and innings eater for Head Coach Michael Bruno’s staff.

Rye (3-2) is back above .500 as they get set to travel to Orlando, Florida for their annual tournament at Disney. Their first action in the Sunshine State is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, at 10:30am against Byram Hills. Although the team will enjoy the nice weather, their games in Orlando are important and very relevant for league standings.
