Rye Boys Lacrosse Drops Close Game to Ridgefield at Nugent

The Rye Boys Lacrosse team fell to the Ridgefield Tigers on Saturday, April 26, losing at home 10-8. Rye The Garnets briefly led 3-2 after erasing a 2-0 deficit, but never led again once the visiting Tigers tied it and pulled ahead for the close win.
“It was a back and forth game the whole time,” Head Coach Steve Lennon told MyRye.com. “I’m proud of the energy and the way the boys hustled.”
Rye received two-goal performances from Tyler McDermott, Carson Miller, and Will Niejadlik in the loss, with McDermott adding two assists and the other two recording one apiece as well. Henry Shoemaker and Charlie Brady were the other goal scorers for Rye. Ty Ramachandran made eight saves in goal and Wilson Redd won nine face-offs.
The Garnets next play on Monday, April 28, as they host the Scarsdale Raiders. The game is slated to begin at 5:00pm at Nugent Stadium as part of a busy day in Rye athletics with five varsity and four other teams all in action. Watch the loss to Ridgefield here.
