Garnets Softball Limited to Two Hits in Loss to Eastchester

The Rye Softball Team fell 12-0 to Eastchester on Saturday, May 10, suffering their second consecutive loss. The Garnets’ offense, which has been operating at a prolific level in May, had no respone for Eagles pitching in the shutout defeat.
“Another tough loss, but as always they played hard and gave me everything they had,” Head Coach Alex Tejera told MyRye.com after the game. “[They’re a] great group.”
Jill DeSanto and Caroline Joyce both went 1-2 to account for Rye’s only hits. They have now been shutout in consecutive games after scoring 66 in their previous five games combined.
The Garnets (4-9-1) will look to get back onto the socreboard against Rye Neck on Monday, May 12. The game opens a three-game homestand in the final week of the regular season and begins at 4:30pm.
