Girls Lacrosse Stays Perfect in League Play With 16-3 Smacking of Bethlehem

Rye Girls Lacrosse comfortably handled the Bethlehem Central Eagles on Saturday, May 10, winning 16-3 at home. The Eagles hung around in the first quarter, but Rye outscored the visitors 13-1 over the final 36:30 to pull away.
“We were dominant on the draw, with six players registering draw controls for the day,” Head Coach Michelle Mason told MyRye.com. “Our defensive unit was fierce, causing turnovers, picking up ground balls, and limiting scoring opportunities.”
On offense, eight different Garnets made it onto the scoresheet. The team was happy to have Addie on the sidelines for the entirety of the win, as the young fan served as an honorary captain and found herself front and center for the team’s celebratory photo.
Rye (10-4, 4-0) has made a habit of blowing out opposing teams this season, with this latest win being another example of that. The Garnets play next at home against Mamaroneck on Wednesday, May 14, at 7:00pm. The contest against the Tigers is under the lights at Nugent Stadium. Watch it here. Rewatch the Bethlehem win here.
