Hutson Homers Twice in Another Big Win for Rye Baseball

Nolan Hutson socked his first two career home runs as Rye Baseball earned their seventh consecutive win on Friday, May 2. Rye defeated Edgemont 11-0 in another mercy rule victory, and have still not lost since returning to New York after their annual visit to Disney.
Hutson led off the game with his first varsity long ball on the first pitch of the game before blasting a two-run home run to left field in his third at-bat. He finished the day with four runs batted in and three runs scored out of the leadoff spot.
Jackson Pineault went 2-2 with an RBI and a walk as he reached base in every plate appearance. Harry Ellis (2), Vinny Sculti, Jamie Morris, and Luke Ontaneda all recorded RBIs as well. Peter Davies threw four scoreless innings to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Rye (11-3) will look to keep the good times rolling in their next game on Monday, May 5. The Garnets host the Byram Hills Bobcats at Disbrow Field at 4:30pm to kick off a three-game homestand.
