Three members of the Rye Girls Golf team took to day two of the NYSPHSAA Individual State Qualifier match on Wednesday, May 28, with senior captain Myla Bisceglia shining the brightest. Matilda Glitterstam and Leila Kubursi earned All-Conference honors alongside Bisceglia, who advanced to the New York State championship in June thanks to her stellar performance.
Bisceglia shot a 169 across two days – Tuesday, May 20, and Wednesday (the match was rained out on May 21 and rescheduled). Her score was just 15 strokes behind first place, as the captain finished in sixth – plenty high enough to earn qualification for the state team. It will be her third consecutive season representing the Garnets in Rochester. The tournament runs from June 7-9.
The match Wednesday wraps up impressive seasons for Glitterstam and Kubursi – the latter of which was a breakout star for Head Coach Rich Savage. The former completes a very successful senior year on the links.
