Softball’s Undefeated Streak Halted by Harrison
The Harrison Huskies defeated the Rye Softball team 15-0 on Thursday, May 8, ending a five-game undefeated streak for the Garnets. Rye struggled to get their offense going, resulting in the run-rule loss.
“Tough loss, but they played hard until the very end,” Head Coach Alex Tejera said of his group after the game. “Proud of the team and the way they fought.”
Penelope Gilmore, Ava Rollano, Clara Meszkat, Rosie Zicherman, and Olivia Hodes all had one hit apiece for the Garnets.
Rye falls to 4-8-1, although this was their first loss in the month of May. They will look to get back on track against the Eastchester Eagles on Saturday, May 10, for a 1:00pm road afternoon matinee.
