Rye PD arrested Rasheen A. Coswell, age 18, and an unidentified 16 year old male, both of Brooklyn, New York, for petit larceny. Officers responded to the Rye CVS located at 1121 Boston Post Road for a larceny complaint. An investigation determined Coswell and the juvenile entered the store stealing merchandise valued at $108.67, passing all points of purchase without paying.

Police said the stolen items included Dove whole body deodorant, teeth whitening strips and hair dye. The two arrested were part of a larger group of six or seven teens that rolled into Rye Friday morning. The original 911 call came in around 9:00am. In addition to the incident at CVS, Rye police had to break up members of the larger group that were fighting with each other on Purchase Street. By 10:00am or 10:30am, police had rounded up the teens and contained the chaos.

Coswell and the juvenile were arrested and transported to Rye Police Headquarters for processing. Coswell was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Rye City Court on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at 9:00am. The juvenile was turned over to a family member with a Family Court appearance ticket returnable for Thursday August 28, 2025.

Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
