The Rye Girls Tennis team earned their first victory of the 2025 season on Friday, September 5, defeating Mamaroneck 4-3. The Garnets move to 1-1 in the early portion of the season thanks to the close road victory.
The decisive fourth team point came courtesy of Alex DiMeo, the top singles player, who took down her Tiger opponent 6-4, 6-4. Head Coach Tony Campbell also highlighted the doubles team of Ella Poole and Paloma Pepper, who picked off right where they left off in 2024 with a 6-1, 6-4 sweep.
Rye (1-1) gets into the win column after dropping their opening match to Horace Greeley on Tuesday. They will look to make it two in a row on Monday, September 8, as they travel to Scarsdale High School. First serve against the Raiders is set for 4:30pm.
