The Rye Volleyball team defeated Blind Brook in their 2025 season opener on Tuesday, September 9, as they took three of four sets against the Trojans. Rye jumped out to a 2-0 lead by winning sets one and two 25-19 and 25-21, respectively, and then dominated the fourth set 25-13 to secure the victory.

Defensively, Emma Lunstead paced all Garnets with 23 digs, also adding five service aces and a kill. Amelie Modesto sparked the offense with 30 assiststs, distributing the ball evenly to several targets. Lexi Kessner had seven kills, eight digs, and three aces in a balanced effort. Phoebe Greto led with nine kills, while Olivia Lewis led with three blocks (and seven kills).

The group effort has Rye at 1-0 in their brief preseason non-league slate, which continues at home on Thursday, September 11. The Garnets host Mamaroneck for their home opener at 4:30pm.
