
The Rye Volleyball team played into five sets for the first time in 2025 on Thursday, September 18, eventually taking down Pelham 25-19, 25-11, 12-25, 24-26, 15-9. The Garnets let two chances to win slip away, but hunkered down for the decisive final set to 15 and came away with their third consecutive win.
Phoebe Greto set a new Garnet season high with a remarkable 24 kills (4.8 per set), leading the offense. Valeria Medina provided excellent secondary attacks with 16 kills, as two separate teammates reached double digit kills for the first time all season. Amelie Modesto faciliated beautifully with 48 assists, nearly 10 per set, along with three service aces.
The big win moves Rye to 5-1, with their only loss coming to Mamaroneck after six contests. They will look to make it four in a row on the flip side of the Jewish holidays, as they travel to Ossining for another road matchup on Friday, September 26, at 4:30pm.
