The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swim and Dive team defeated Mahopac – Putnam Valley – Carmel 88-74 on Wednesday, September 17, improving to 2-0 in the early season. In a larger meet than their first, close victory over Yorktown – Somers 49-45, the team rose to the occasion for another road victory.
“Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook had a great meet tonight, winning all three relays,” Head Coach Katie Konopka told MyRye.com after the meet. “Congratulations to Maddie Kennedy for competing in her first varsity meet.”
The team was buoyed by two multi-event winners, Kate Chesley (200-meter Individual Medley and 100M backstroke) and Grayson Findlay (50M and 100M freestyle). 8th-grade rising star out of Rye High Charlotte Tait won the 500 freestyle to help push her team over the edge to victory.
Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook (2-0) hosts their first home meet on Friday, September 19, as they host Ardsley-Dobbs Ferry at the Hommocks pool in Mamaroneck.
