The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook merged Varsity Swimming and Diving team had a great 2024 season, winning seven matches and sending seven individuals to states. With ten seniors gone, their relatively young roster will have to try to keep pace in a new league in 2025.

“This season the team will compete in a new merged team swim league,” Head Coach Katie Konopka told MyRye.com. “We are excited to compete against new teams in the league.”

One of the rival programs in the new merged team league is SHEDI (Sleepy Hollow, Hastings, Edgemont, and Irvington), who the team is looking forward to competing against. That meet is tentatively scheduled for September 29 at 5:00pm – one of many challenges on the schedule for Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook.

The team is led by a new senior class consisting of Sophie Boyle (Rye), Ella Godden (Rye), Emilia Boccini (Blind Brook), Grayson Findlay (Rye Neck), and Scarlett Colombini (Rye Neck). The veterans are expected to be impact performers throughout the season, and they are complemented by a talented group of underclassmen.

The leaders and the rest of the team are already 1-0 this season after defeating Yorktown – Somers 49-45. Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook will be looking to get to 2-0 on Wednesday, September 17, as they face off against Mahopac – Putnam Valley – Carmel. The meet is their next step towards their season goals.

“The expectations for the this season are to get as many best times, best dive scores, sectionals qualifiers, and state qualifiers as possible,” Konopka said.
