The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swimming and Diving team got back on track on Friday, October 3, 2025 as they defeated Croton – Henry Hudson 97-81. The team improves to 5-1 on the year and continue to shine, with their only loss coming earlier this week on a last-race heartbreaker.
“We had a great meet tonight celebrating our five senior swimmers from Rye (Sophie Boyle, Ella Godden), Blind Brook (Emilia Boccini), Rye Neck (Scarlett Colombini, Grayson Findlay), and Bronxville (senior diver Campbell Wolfe who follows the Rye meet schedule),” Head Coach Katie Konopka told MyRye.com. “The girls had a great meet tonight with many first place finishes, sectional cuts, and state cuts.”
Kate Chesley continued her impressive campaign, winning both the 50M freestyle and 100M butterfly and qualifying for the state championship meet in both events. Her teammate Clare McGlynn won the 200M free and placed second in the 100M free, qualifying for sectionals in both events.
Godden took home first place in the 200M individual medley to celebrate senior night. Findlay qualified for states in the 50M free. Elena McGlynn followed in her sister’s footsteps by winning the 100M backstroke. Brynn McFarland also won her first varsity event, the long-distance 500M free. All the winners nearly pushed Konopka’s team to the century mark.
Claire Biddle came in first in the 1M diving competition and Maddie Kennedy had a season best diving score to help Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook pull away from Croton – Henry Hudson.
The team (5-1) competes again on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 4:30pm. They face off against Tsunami at Westchester Community College, looking to move to a very impressive 6-1 in 2025.
