The Rye Volleyball team responded from just their second loss of the season to sweep Byram Hills on Wednesday, October 8, the Garnets’ 10th win of the 2025 season. Head Coach Geri Jones and her group did not even allow the Bobcats to get to 20 points in any of the sets, winning 25-17, 25-19, 25-11.
Rye excelled from behind the service line, as Lexi Kessner produced five aces and Emma Lunstead four. Lunstead also dug 19 balls, good for 6.33 per set, above her season average. Kessner set a new season high with 10 assists to complement her exceptional serving day.
Phobe Greto led the offense with 8 kills, although the group was not asked to do much on a day where Rye was consistently in system far more frequently than the overmatched Bobcats.
The Garnets become the second Garnet team to 10 wins on the season, doing so in just 12 games (10-2, just one game worse than the field hockey team’s 10-1 record). Rye will look for win #11 in a quick turnaround, as they travel to Horace Greeley for a road game tomorrow, Thursday 10/9, at 4:30pm. Watch it here. Watch the recent win here.
