The Rye – Blind Brook Swim and Dive team dropped their second straight meet on Friday, December 19, as Fox Lane – John Jay-Cross River defeated them 101-74. The Garnet Trojans had some key individual performances, but it was not enough against a strong league opponent.

For divers at the onset of the meet, Rye – Blind Brook got off to a hot start. 2025 team MVP Finn Hansen scored first place and Jackson Rinadhl came in second right behind him in the 1M event.

Hansen, along with Luka Rozende and Austin Frankel, all swam personal best times (PRs) in the 50M freestyle swimming competition. Rindahl also swam a best time alongside Michael Hamlet in the 100 backstroke.

Quality placements include Wilson Redd (2nd in the 50 free), Nick Stocks (2nd in the 100 free), Owen Picker (2nd in the 500-yard free), Charlie Thigpen (2nd in the 100 back), and Liam O’Byrne (3rd in the 500-yard free behind Picker). Stocks became the second Garnet Trojan swimmer to qualify for sections (Redd) with his time in the 100 free.

Rye 9th grader Ethan Morris competed in his first varsity meet on Friday, the 50-yard free. Versatile Henri Von Homeyer competed in the 200 individual medley for the first time.

Rye – Blind Brook (1-3) will use the holiday break to reset before their next meet on Friday, January 9, 2026.
