The Rye Girls Basketball team fell on the road against Mamaroneck on Friday, January 23, suffering a 48-36 defeat to the Tigers. The 38 points marks the Garnets’ lowest offensive output of the season, of which only 17 came in the second half.

Head Coach Margo Hackett admitted this was a “tough loss”, as Mamaroneck’s defense stole a page out of Rye’s playbook by completely shutting down the opponent offense. Charlotte Storz still racked up 18 points for Rye, stretching her hot sreak to eleven games. In that span, she has scored double-digit points in ten of those contests, including in eight consecutive games.

Stella Maresca and Frankie Chiaravalle had respectable games themselves with eight points apiece. The rest of the Garnets only combined for two points, with not many to go around against the Mamaroneck defense.

Rye (13-2) will look to avoid losing for a third time in the last four games on Monday, January 26. The Garnets travel to Ossining for a road game at 5:00pm. Replay the loss to Mamaroneck here.
