The Rye Boys Squash team smoked Bronxville on Saturday. January 24, nearly sweeping them in a 6-1 final. After their first loss of the season on January 22, the Garnets rebounded back in league play to stay undefeated against Fairwest League opponents.
“The boys rebounded nicely from Thursday’s loss against Hackley to beat league opponent Bronxville 6-1,” Head Coach Quan Huynh told MyRye.com after the match. “Another team win.”
The Garnets played short-handed on Thursday, but their strength was not a question on Saturday. The win means Rye and Greenwich are guaranteed to finish top two in the Fairwest League – both are currently unbeaten and tied for first place. The Fairwest Cup will be determined in their match on February 3.
Prior to that, the Garnets meet up with Rye Country Day on Friday, January 25, and Greensfarm the next day 1/26. Those three matches mark the final home stretch of the regular season for the 7-1 Garnets.
