Rye High School (RHS)’s six National Merit Scholarship program semifinalists have now advanced to become National Merit Finalists. Of the more than 1.3 million students nationwide who took the exam, approximately 16,000 were named semifinalists. Finalist standing places these students among the nation’s highest achieving scholars as they continue in the competition for approximately 6,930 scholarships worth nearly $26 million. Semifinalists represent the top 0.5 percent of the state’s senior students. Semifinalists must meet certain requirements to advance to finalist, including a detailed scholarship application.

The finalists:

  • Svetlana (Lana) Andikyan,
  • Grace Wang,
  • Ryan Crozier,
  • Reid Thigpen,
  • Pedro Becker,
  • Jackson Page.

“We are extremely proud of the six students who have earned this distinction this year,” said RHS Principal Andrew Hara. “This is an incredible accomplishment that reflects their hard work, talent, and dedication.”
