A baby fox (called a kit) was recued by a local animal rescue in the vicinity of Brookdale Place off Milton Avenue on the evening on Monday, March 30, 2026. The kit’s mother was found deceased. The den was located and carefully searched, and no additional babies were found. Officials at Cottontail Cottage Wildlife Rehab are asking area residents to call immediately if they see another lone kit in the area over the next few days.
The kit was found thin and dehydrated. She weighs only one pound and is approximately four weeks old. If you see a baby fox:
- Only handle wearing gloves
- Keep pets and people at a distance
- Secure it in a box and contact the rehabers immediately
