
The Rye Girls Lacrosse team picked up a 16-7 road win over Bronxville on Friday, March 26, improving to 2-0 on the young season. The Garnets pulled away with a 6-1 fourth quarter and have now outscored their two opponents 11-1 acrosse the final 10:00 of both their contests.
“The Garnets earned their second win of the season against league rival Bronxville in a total team effort,” Head Coach Michelle Mason told MyRye.com on Saturday. “Shoutout to freshman goalie Dylan Ehrlich with her first start and win, finishing the game with five saves.”
Ehrlich had to make several key saves while the game was close through three quarters. Rye jumped out to a 3-0 lead but led 9-6 late into the third period as the tides evened before the dominant fourth. Throughout the contest, Beau Whaling controlled the draw circle with eight DCs and four DC assists. The talented senior also scored five of Rye’s 16 goals.
The Garnets (2-0) will look for their third win in a row to open 2026 in their next game on Wednesday, April 1. Rye heads to American Heritage High School for a road game beginning at 5:00pm. Watch the win over Bronxville here.
