The Rye Baseball team earned a clutch victory over New Rochelle on Saturday, April 11, scoring the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and winning 10-8. The Garnets had to string several quality plate appearances together throughout the afternoon, leading to their high-scoring win in a game they once trailed 8-2.

After the bottom of the lineup worked to create traffic on the basepaths in the bottom of the sixth inning, Nolan Hutson delivered a clutch three-run double. He cleared the bases and flipped the script, giving Rye a lead they would not relinquish.

Lucas London made the sixth inning stand up with a clean seventh to earn the save. He piggybacked the excellent relief outing from Harry Ellis, who went three strong innings and struck out four Huguenot hitters to earn his first win of the year.

The Garnets (4-2) begin league play in their next game on Monday, April 13, a road contest against Nyack.
