The Rye Baseball team completed the sweep of a home-and-home series with Clarkstown North on Tuesday, April 21, defeating the Rams 11-0 on the road. The Garnets won the first game 5-4 in a game in which Clarkstown evidently used their best pitchers, and Rye jumped on their other arms for a mercy rule decision one day later.

Nolan Hutston lifted a home run in the fifth inning as part of a 9-run frame for Rye. He finished his day 2-4 with two runs and three runs batted in. Luke Ontaneda also notched 3 RBIs on a 3-3 performance with a walk – one of seven free passes the Garnets drew.

On the hill, Michael Bubeck struck out six in a complete game victory. He threw 51 of 76 pitches for strikes and made efficient work of an overmatched Rams offense.

Rye (9-2) continues to roll after their 1-2 start, and host Fox Lane at 4:30pm on Thursday, April 23, in their next contest.
