The Rye Baseball team topped Nyack for their second straight win over the Redhawks on Thursday, April 16, winning 5-1. Although the Garnets could not match their 14-run showing from Monday, they still did enough to win behind strong pitching.
Michael Bubeck took the ball for Rye and delivered five shutout innings, only ceding three hits. He improved to 2-0 on the year with his quality outing. Offensively, Lucas London smacked two doubles and Luke Ontaneda led the Garnets with two runs batted in. Jamie Morris and Harry Ellis both recorded RBIs as well.
Rye (6-2) hosts Lakeland on Saturday, April 18, in their next game. The Garnets will look to win their sixth game in a row and fifth straight since returning from Florida. The home contest begins at 1:00pm at Disbrow Park.
