The Rye Boys Lacrosse team earned a huge road victory on Saturday, April 18, defeating Ridgefield comfortably 14-8. The Garnets have now won three games in a row and have their first victory away from home over a non-league opponent in 2026.
“This was our most complete game and it was an excellent team effort,” Head Coach Jeremy Guski told MyRye.com after the win. “We need to keep it rolling.”
Rye’s offense came alive at Ridgefield with 14 goals, four of which came off the stick of Will Niejadlik. His six points on the evening led all Garnets, although he received plenty of support behind him. Charlie Brady scored a hat trick and added a helper, Carson Miller tallied twice and dished out an assist, Henry Shoemaker had 1 goal and 2 assists, and Henry Gilroy netted 2 goals.
Besides goal scoring, as Guski noted, Rye excelled in many other facets of the game. Wilson Redd was unrelentless at the faceoff X, winning 20 of 25 draws. At the other end of the field, Sam LaMonte made 9 saves in another +.500 save percentage game.
The Garnets (4-2) have two days off before their next contest, another road one on Tuesday, April 21. Rye travels to Pelham for a 5:00pm game against the Pelicans.
