
The Rye Girls Lacrosse team easily handled Horace Greeley at home on Saturday, April 18, winning 14-5. The Garnets never trailed on the afternoon and rode a 9-2 first-half lead to a comfortable victory at Nugent Stadium.
“Awesome team win for the Garnets,” Head Coach Michelle Mason told MyRye.com after the game. “We shined throughout the field with contributors all over.”
Nine different Garnets scored at least one goal in the victory, led by Mary Ebeling and Beau Whaling with a hat trick and two assists apiece. Rose Denvir scored twice and caused two turnovers, and Emma Giannetti scored once and added a team-leading 3 CTs. The other five Rye players to score were Stella Maresca, Caroline Kmetz, Blake Sasse, Mia Howson, and Annie Toulouse. Dylan Ehrlich earned the win with ten saves for a strong .667 save percentage.
