The Rye Baseball team saw their losing streak reach three games on Monday, April 27, as the Garnets fell to Suffern 5-2. Rye has now scored just seven runs across their last 23 innings, struggling to provide run support for their solid pitching staff.
Michael Talbott proved to be an effective relief option against the Mounties, allowing just one run across 2.1 innings of work. He efficiently threw only 26 pitches (17 strikes) while facing eleven hitters.
Lucas London led the offense with two hits and an RBI. Rye walked five teams but only mustered four hits. The other two came from Jamie Morris, who also lifted a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, and Talbott.
Rye (9-5) will look to snap their skid on Wednesday, April 29, as they host Suffern at Disbrow Park. First pitch in the rematch is scheduled for 4:30pm.
