The Rye Boys Lacrosse team earned a low-scoring victory over Yorktown on Thursday, May 7, winning by the final of 9-2. The Garnets welcomed faceoff specialist Wilson Redd back into the lineup, which was key in their ninth win of the campaign.
“This was a huge team win,” Head Coach Jeremy Guski told MyRye.com. “The boys knew this game was special for me since I coached there for the last four years. The team battled and they were victorious. I am so proud of them.”
Guski, in his first season with the Garnets after four at Yorktown, watched as Charlie Brady and Carson Miller both co-led his team with three points apiece. Will Niejadlik and Henry Gilroy added two-goal games nd Henry Shoemaker accounted for the ninth tally. Redd won 10 of 13 faceoffs in his return and Sam Lamont put up one of his strongest efforts of the year with eight saves.
Rye (9-4) hosts Mamaroneck under the lights of Nugent Stadium tomorrow, Saturday 5/9. The contest begins at 7:00pm.
