The Rye Girls Lacrosse team crushed Pearl River in their final game of the 2026 regular season, winning 21-8 at Nugent Stadium. The Garnets saw contributions up and down the lineup in a comfortable win ahead of the postseason.
“Huge team win to cap off the regular season for the Garnets,” Head Coach Michelle Mason told MyRye.com. “Our draw team set the tone for our success, we had a ton of offensive contribution, Ehrlich played great between the pipes, and our defense played together and dictated.”
Dylan Ehrlich made eight saves, but it was the offense that highlighted the box score. Mia Howson (five), Mary Ebeling (four), Beau Whaling (three), and Annie Toulouse (three) all combined for 15 goals, as well as six assists. Blake Sasse, Paloma Pepper, and Paige Tepedino each chipped in multiple points games. Whaling led all players in the game with nine draw controls, with Rose Denvir right behind her at eight.
The Garnets (12-4) had already locked up a league championship, but this win gives them very good odds to secure the #1 overall seed in the Sectional tournament. That would put them in line to host the Class C quarterfinals and semifinals on May 26 and 29, respectively, should the Garnets win their first playoff game. If they fall out of the top seed, they will have to play on Friday 5/22.
“We stay focused one game at a time and are fired up for postseason play,” Mason said.
