The Rye Girls Lacrosse team won two games on two consecutive days from Wednesday, April 29 through Thursday, April 30, first knocking off Scarsdale 17-0 and then Briarcliff 15-1. With a combined score of 32-1 in back to back home games, the Garnets could not have asked for a better way to start their weekend.

All offensive players scored at least one goal for Rye in their first win of the two, a first for Rye this season. Their defenders and pair of goalies also combined for a team shutout with only one shot allowed, which Rory O’Byrne saved. Emma Giannetti netted her first hat trick of the season, and Blake Sasse, Mia Howson, and Beau Whaling also recorded multi-goal games.

The following day, the Garnets welcomed Briarcliff to town with the same fury. Paige Tepedino returned from injury to spark the Garnets with three ground balls and two caused turnovers on defense. Mary Ebeling accumulated an impressive five assists as Howson, Sasse, and Whaling all once again scored two or more goals. The goalies got another chance to split the game.

Rye (7-3) will look to stay hot in their next game later today, Saturday 5/2, as they host New Canaan at Nugent Stadium for a rare late-season non-league contest. First draw is scheduled for 3:00pm. Watch it here.
