The Rye Girls Lacrosse team won their second straight out-of-state game on Saturday, May 9, defeating Ridgefield 15-6. The Garnets started hot despite rainy conditions and maintained their advantage throughout regulation to earn the victory on the road.
“Awesome team win on the road at Ridgefield for the Garnets,” Head Coach Michelle Mason said to MyRye.com. “Our draw team was once again dominant, our D-unit took care of business, and our offense had lots of players contribute.”
Beau Whaling built upon her Athlete of the Month performance in April with five goals to lead all players. Paige Tepedino added four and Blake Sasse and Annie Toulouse scored two each as well. Mary Ebeling only scored once but amassed a remarkable five assists. Rose Denvir was the final goal scorer for the Garnets, and Dylan Ehrlich earned the win with six saves on 12 shots on goal.
Rye (9-4) has continued to build since a slower start to the season, and will look to enter double digits in the win column in their next game on Tuesday, May 12. The Garnets visit Ursuline for a 5:00pm road start. Watch it here.
