The Rye Softball team earned their second win in a row on Thursday, May 7, as they knocked off Nanuet 8-4. The Garnets have now won two straight games and are 3-2 in their last five, with eight runs being their fewest in a win this season.
Rye struck first on heads up baserunning and extended their lead on a two-out, two-run double from Clara Meszkat in the third. Caroline Joyce did the same in the bottom of the sixth inning, which made it 8-2 Garnets at the time. Joyce finished the game with two hits, two walks, and a third RBI.
Georgina Gilmore pitched 6 2/3 innings to earn the win, also going 1-3 at the plate. Seven different Garnets recorded at least one hit.
Rye (5-11) will look to build off their recent run of success on Saturday, May 9, as they head to Walter Panas for their final road game in the 2026 regular season.
