Rye Boys Varsity Golf head coach Pat Romano has named his MVP for the 2026 season: junior Derek Bisceglia.

“Derek has been a huge part of the team and has been a leader this year,” Romano told MyRye.com. “He always has been positive and has helped the team excel. He is our most experienced player, and he excels off the course.”

On a team with mostly starters with a class year of 2028 or later, Bisceglia served as the most experienced lineup regular. His teammates looked up to him all year long, and will continue to next year.

Bisceglia helped the Garnets to a one-loss regular season and a Section 1 championship, leading one of the most successful campaigns in program history. He is now a two-time defending team MVP and will have another year to add to his resume in 2027.
