The Rye Football team came up one score short against their rival Harrison on Saturday, October 17, as the Huskies came away with a 21-14 win. For just the fourth time in the last 27 instances, it is Harrison who earned the right to jump into the brook right next to Nugent Stadium.

Rye held leads of 7-0 and 14-7 in the first half, but did not formulate a scoring drive in the second half. Harrison only mustered up one touchdown after the break, but it was enough to put them over the hump after the teams had been deadlocked at 14 after 30 minutes.

Johnny Shoemaker ran for a 1-yard score in the first quarter and found Jagger Fenton for a five-yard pitch-and-catch touchdown in the second. Neither team led by more than one possession for the entire game.

Rye (4-3) travels to Clarkstown North for their final regular season game next Friday, October 23. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00pm in a road game for the Garnets.
