Welcome to MyRye.com’s explainer series: who we are, what we do, why we do it and how we do it.

And we can already tell you when and where we do it. It’s every day, 365 days a year. And it is on this website and in our daily newsletter at 9:00 a.m. every morning (sign-up – it’s FREE).

So who publishes MyRye.com anyway?

I’m Jay Sears, a 25-year resident. I live with my wife Lauren in the Bradford Park neighborhood. We raised our three sons in Rye – Ethan (RHS ‘17), Noah (RHS ‘19) and Jonathan (RHS ‘21).

I’ll tell you about the origin story of MyRye.com in another explainer. It’s been a long journey to get to where we are today.

So, what else?

Most of my career was spent in the advertising technology and media industry (yes, some of us work in areas besides finance!). I also founded an amazing nonprofit with friends called Team Dayā where we raise money to fund the construction of primary schools in the developing world to fight illiteracy and poverty.

I am also an avid traveler, boater (see you on the Sound) and birdwatcher (look for me in the Marshlands Conservancy).

Nothing is better than hearing directly from our readers. It’s how we know what matters to you. Please reach out at any time using our tips and letters page.
