The Rye Boys Soccer team pushed their undefeated start to the 2026 season to ten games on Friday, October 2, as they bested Edgemont 6-0. The Garnets scored three times in both halves and goalkeepers Will Alexander and Trent Roseberry split the shutout in another dominant Garnet victory.

“I felt the team was highly prepared, tactically and physically,” player Harrison Zimmer told MyRye.com after the game. “We knew Edgemont’s playstyle and executed our plan perfectly on the field, which ultimately led to the result.”

The Garnets claimed the lead in the 9th minute when Kasen Scarperi broke the ice. It was the first of three for Scarperi on the evening to extend his team lead in the goal column and secure the hat trick.

Connor Dehmer and Gabriel Chared-Sandstrom extended the lead before halftime before Scarperi’s two finishes in the early portion of the second half. Felix Wismer tallied the final goal, completing a one-goal, two-assist night.

“The team prepared just like any other game: we got to the field, only worried about ourselves, and locked in straight away,” Wismer told MyRye.com. “Every time we step on the field it’s like that, and our performance speaks for itself… we played aggressively, controlled, and as a team.”

Rye (10-0) faces a very tough test in their next game on Tuesday, October 6, as they travel to Byram Hills for a 6:30pm start.
