The Rye Girls Soccer team won their seventh straight game on Tuesday, October 13, as they crushed Ursuline 6-0. The Garnets have now won both their regular season contests over the Koalas by a combined score of 10-0, two of their eight shutout victories and nine clean sheets overall on the season.
“The team continued its strong season with a convincing 6-0 victory over visiting Ursuline in a league matchup, showcasing its offensive firepower, defensive effort, and outstanding teamwork,” head coach Rich Savage told MyRye.com. “The victory highlighted Rye’s balanced attack, unselfish play, and contributions from throughout the lineup as the Garnets continued their impressive campaign.”
Harkin Brown picked up where she left off against Ursuline with a goal in the fourth minute, her fifth of the year against the Koalas. She later assisted on Vivian Miller’s tally, which followed the first of two goals for Charlotte Keenan.
Cameron Dawson scored off a slick assist from Rose Denvir, who excelled defensively. The final goal of the contest came courtesy of Blake Sasse’s first of the year. The senior started the game in goal like usual before joining the field and managing a goal in her limited non-GK minutes.
Rye (12-0-2) will ride their recent string of excellent play into a home match against Eastchester on Thursday, October 15, at 5:00pm.
