The city council’s agenda for its meeting at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 is out. The council will convene at 6:30pm and adjourn into executive session to discuss acquisition of personnel matters, potential acquisition of property, and litigation. The meeting will take place at Rye City Hall in council chambers.

The meeting will also be aired on Cablevision Channel 1310 (formerly 75) and Verizon Channel 39. We’ll also see you on the Internet (live and archive). The city council publishes its office hours on the City website.

    • Midland Parade. Consideration of a request by the Midland Fair Committee to approve a parade to precede the Midland Elementary School Fair on Saturday, May 1, 2027, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
    • Holy Mackerel: Mike Judge’s Apple TV+ Parks in Rye. Consideration of a request from Apple Studios, LLC, to use the Highland Parking lot from 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, to park trucks and set up base camp to film an episode of Mackerel.   • Sowing Native Seeds. Consideration of a request from the Rye Sustainability Foundation to use the Highland Parking lot to facilitate Seeding Giveaway Day on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a rain date of October 25, 2026.
  • FEMA (Fix Everything My A**). Authorization for the Mayor to send a letter to the City’s congressional delegation on behalf of the City Council regarding the recent FEMA denial of a New York State major disaster declaration for the February 22-23, 2026 blizzard.

  • No Turns Left. Consideration to set a public hearing for the October 21, 2026, City Council Meeting to amend Chapter 191, Article “Traffic Regulations” of the Code of the City of Rye, by amending § 191-9 “Left turns” to prohibit left turns from Apawamis Avenue onto Milton Road from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Flood of Info. Flood presentation by city manager.
  • Emergency Blowing. Open a public hearing to amend Chapter 122 “Leaf Blowers” and Chapter 133 “Noise” of the Code of the City of Rye, by amending § 122-5 “Days and hours of operation of motorized landscaping equipment” and §133-8 “Construction work prohibited at certain hours and on certain days,” to create an exemption for emergency activities.

There will be a joint meeting of the City Council and the Recreation Commission on the future of Gagliardo Park on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 5:30 pm at Gagliardo Park. 

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. for executive session and 7:00 pm for the public session at City Hall.
