Woman Dead in Midland Avenue House Fire, Dog Rescued

A woman died in the early hours Saturday after a house fire on Midland Avenue. Rye fire department alarm calls show two alarms just after midnight for a structure fire at 511 Midland Avenue in Rye (Update: a reader comments that the actual house fire was at 490 Midland).
According to LoHud, the woman was taken to Greenwich Hospital where she passed:
"The victim, a female, was taken to Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut where she succumbed. She was not identified and it was not immediately known whether she lived at the residence.
Firefighters, police and EMS responded to a 911 call at about 12:10 a.m. reporting a structure fire, said police Lt. Robert Falk.
There were fire and smoky conditions on the second floor, and firefighters gained access to that floor where they found the person unconscious. First aid was performed and she was taken by EMS to the hospital, Falk said.
A dog that had come out of the residence and initially ran away was located by several officers and firefighters and turned over to the Humane Society."
