Welcome to the Storytelling Project, Episode #14 with the Rye YMCA’s Denise Cypher

RFFR MyRye.com Storytelling Project Episode #14 Rye YMCA's Denise Cypher

Over the last few weeks the Rye Free Reading Room and MyRye.com have asked various Rye citizens – elected officials, city staff, community leaders and local authors – to read a story for the youngest citizens of Rye. Each day, we will share a new story.

Today, the Rye YMCA’s Denise Cypher reads Elisha Cooper’s A Good Night Walk.

Denise Cypher is a 25-year Rye resident. She currently is a fitness instructor at the Rye Y, teaching Spin classes and LiveStrong classes where she coaches cancer survivors in aerobic and strength training. As a USAT triathlon coach, Denise has coached the Y’s all female triathlon team for nine seasons.

While her three children were in school, Cypher was active in the parent organization, as co-president of the Rye High School and Middle School PO, and co-chair of the House Tour in 2012. She loves Rye and feels so fortunate that she and her husband Bob, were able to raise their three children here.
