Part of New Law, Rye Schools to Recognize 9/11 with Moment of Silence
To recognize 9/11, Rye schools will have a moment of silence at the beginning of the school day tomorrow. The remembrance is part of a new law signed by Governor Cuomo on Monday. See the note sent to Rye parents, below.
"Dear RCSD Parents and Guardians,
On September 9, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a law establishing September 11th Remembrance Day. The new law requires public schools to observe a moment of silence at the beginning of the school day annually on September 11. The Rye City Schools will observe a moment of silence at each of our schools tomorrow. More information on the legislation is below:
